Lima and I grew up together in Wellington, New Zealand, where we spent countless days of our youth riding our bikes, eating Fish n’ Chips, and watching American programs on TV. We’re now a long way from home, with Lima playing professional rugby in Lyon and with me living and working out of Toronto.
These photos were shot in Paris where a group of childhood friends reunited for the first time in years. Young Polynesian boys from a small seaside city in NZ, now together in a major capital of the world — an experience we couldn’t have prayed for because we wouldn’t have recognized it could exist.
